St. Andrew’s Episcopal School’s The Revelation Magazine creates excellent stories in the literary magazine.
The journalism class produces four literary magazines a year that include a variety of media. The staff is made up of the Editor-in-Chief, Graphic Design Editor, Website Editor, Social Media Editor, and staff writers who work to showcase the St. Andrew’s community.
“We work to divide responsibilities among the journalism class to ensure every student plays a role in the completion of our magazine,” Caroline Lowery, social media editor of The Revelation, said. “We try to include a variety of media, including long-form stories, short stories, infographics, and photojournalism.”
As social media manager, Lowery updates their Instagram account and films TikToks. Her favorite memory is conducting an interview for their TikTok.
“My favorite memory was filming a TikTok one day in class and we interviewed the student body on who they thought would win the Superbowl! It was certainly a fun and lively interview,” Lowery said.
Students are able to gain skills while being on The Revelation staff that prepares them for their future careers. Lowery wants to become a lawyer and gained skills that can be useful throughout his life.
“I know my public speaking skills learned from doing live in- person interviews and my experience with writing journalism stories will help me become an advocate in the courtroom and write clear and concise legal briefs,” Lowery said.
As her graduation grows near, Lowery hopes that The Revelation staff can continue to produce excellent stories.
“I hope our SA Revelation team can continue to create interesting and informative pieces for our student body. I want the students to continue to read our stories and learn more about current events and the SA community as a whole,” Lowery said.
